To the Left Before He Cheats

There aren't many radio stations that come in out here in the boonies. I listen to the "Adult Alternative" or "Popular" or maybe the "Rock" station. It is the only station that plays the Top 40-ish stuff. It also plays country crossovers, R&B, hip hop, and jazz on the weekends. Whew. Lots of records in that joint.

So, with all of these different genres to cover, could someone explain to me why I have heard "To the Left" by Beyonce and "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood twice each today? It is 3 PM here. So, by my count, they should be replayed sometime soon. Then right after those, they will play that Arms Race song by someone or another. And that Fray song is on right now for the 2nd time today.....

I grew up in a bitty little town, smaller than this one. I always thought we were really behind in the hot and happening stuff, be it clothes, movies or music. Like all the "cool" stuff came to Kansas a couple months after it hit LA, NYC or Atlanta even.

So, audience participation please: what songs are being played nonstop where you are? Am I behind the times? Or is it just me?

I have no idea what the cool kids are listening to here in Atlanta. I listen to dorky blues, flamenco and Brazilian CDs all of the time and haven't listened to the radio in probably close to 5 years. I'm most definitely behind the times: I've never heard either of the songs you mentioned!

I play the radio as it is easier than CD's and Itunes slows my already puttering computer down even more. Maybe I need to revert to CD's....Before He Cheats is on...as I type....
