Fun Monday: What is Your Treat?

Fun Monday is in full swing and the wonderful Beckie at Give It a Try has requested that we discuss our favorite treat.

It may be strange, but I am not a chocolate fan. I like various candies but nothing stands out as my favorite.

The one thing that popped into my mind upon reading this week’s challenge was….sushi.

It is my treat. It is my comfort food. It is my celebratory meal. It has been named as my final meal should I commit a heinous act and find myself on Death Row.

Unfortunately, in the area I am in, there is no sushi. Wal-mart sells frozen california rolls, but they creeped me out!

While on our tour of the Western U.S. this past week, it is all I wanted (Well, once I decided eating was ok again). When I visited Vegas earlier this year with my sister, every meal, except breakfast, was sushi for 4 days. We gorged ourselves on sushi.

So how many times did I eat sushi while in Vegas this go round? Sadly, none. I ate McDonald’s and Panda Express every day though. And man, I want sushi so badly!!

When I go to Houston in a few weeks, I plan on spending much of my earnings on sushi.

Hmmmmmmm, sushi is a 'hit' this week. More than you have chosen it as a favorite. Not me tho, but you didn't ask that. hehehehe

PS--your header looks like Arizona...are you from Arizona? Just curious as I lived there for many years.

I loooove sushi - it's like eating little pieces of art. It's a shame my wife isn't so fond of it! It's hard to find sushi that is authentic and true to the tradition, but when you do, it's like heaven!

Ah another sushi lover but it's not for me I'm sorry to say but I understand it's very healthy :)

Oh you should come to Florida. We have so so so much Sushi, you would feel like you were in hand roll heaven. It's because we are so close to the sea and it's all really fresh. We even have freshly made sushi in all of our grocery stores.

Our very favorite place to eat is called Sushiland. It's all these stools set around a conveyor belt with the sushi chefs creating their art in the middle. It wonderful and amazingly cheap! Yum.

Sushi really scares me - of course, I'm allergic to shellfish, and not sure how I would do with sushi.

I do like smoked salmon - I may have to try it someday.

Having seen your photo's too, I am going insane now for my need for raw tuna to be fulfilled. Just can't get the quality of freshness of fish in the uk though!
Oh and I don't like rice, hence I went for sushimi!

What is it with you people and the raw fish? Sushi is raw fish isn't it? My brother likes it, too, but I am just too freaked out by the thought to try it. Why is it so great? Isn't it slimey? Texture is very important to me, and I do not care for slimey or squooshy. Maybe if someone could describe the taste and texture, I might be brave enough to try it.

Frozen Rolls? That doesn't sound like sushi I would want to eat. (shame on Wal-Mart).

I absolutely love sushi - thought right now I am doing the veggie thing for a littl while.
Unagi and fresh crispy crunchy salmon are my favorites!
Thanks for stopping in.

I like your declaration, "It is my treat. It is my comfort food. It is my celebratory meal. It has been named as my final meal should I commit a heinous act and find myself on Death Row." Hmmm, I not sure what I would pick for my last meal.
