Show Me Some Soul, er Sole

I promised when signing up for this Fun Monday (Thanks to Robin for hosting) that I would show you all the shoes I have. And I will show you all the shoes that are in the hotel with me. In the 7-1-3. (Cuz I am hip like that.) These are not all the shoes I have. There are many, many times this many back in the 5-0-5. But these were deemed worthy enough to travel across 2 states with all my other worthy belongings, 3 cats and sunflower seeds.

I started with the Timbs on my toes. I brought 2 pairs of flip flops, thongs, sandals, etc., with me. Both are from Old Navy. They are the smartest company in the world for selling the cheapest flip flops around. I am pretty sure these are both from their clearance racks at 99 cents a pair.

Further into the hotel room, I came across my favoritest work shoes. Simple black slides. Ya’ll, if you got an issue with thrifting, you may want to click that back button on your toolbar. Cuz these shoes came from a thrift store. Yup. I am wearing some unknown chick’s shoes. Every day. And I love them!

Then I came across my other flip flops. And those things in the last 2 pics are pop-up cubes for cat entertainment. If you find yourself living in a small hotel room with angry cats, may I recommend you pick up some of these. It eases the pain just a bit. That, and Vodka.

At this point, I ran into the wall, not literally... this time….I actually put up some shoes. Had a moment of cleanliness up in here.

I have had these for years. I wear them to work on Fridays and everywhere else every other day that black footwear is appropriate.

These. These are generic pumps from Payless. I wear these only when I have to look a tad taller and more professional. Otherwise, back to the flats.

And these…these are my sexy dress shoes. I have worn these once since I have been here. And they really really hurt my feets. So no sexy for the remaining time here.

And oops, nearly stumbled over these shoes.

Oh Lawsy! There are men’s shoes in my room. Oh Lord, don’t tell my mama. I have a gentleman caller. Oh Lordy! Please have mercy on me.

And don’t tell my mama!

Men's shoes? In your room? No!!!!! Quick, hide 'em under the bed!! Oh oh....that's where the man is hidden! Oh well, just slip 'em on and pretend you're trying on shoes from Goodwill that you found today....Mom's coming!!

Great Fun Monday.

Funny post. I used to shop payless so that I could buy what I called disposable shoes. I would buy tons of sandals in spring, wear the crud outa them in the summer and toss them in the fall.

I'm not so disposable anymore.

I have a couple of pair of the "unknown" chic shoes. I must admit I love them.

Heels rule! :)

BTW your post was very humorous. :)

I need to get my shoes all organized. I love your closet. :)

Great post. Love the thrift shoes. I love shoes. I love them even better when found for very little $$.

And vodka? Rules! As do gentlemen callers. Especially if they bring vodka.

Ain't nothing wrong with being thrifty! Cute shoes you got. Basic black = timeless and classic!

A gentleman caller...a small hotel room...sexy black pumps...um hummm...

yeah, your secret's safe with me! The other 1,000,000 people who lurk on your blog?...who knows!

Forget the shoes - more about the gentleman caller!

I have found that all of the sexy dress shoes that I have ever tried have hurt my feet....hmm.

Your gentleman caller has nice taste in shoes! And I like your dressy heels - too cute!

LMAO. Men's shoes, huh? I'm heading to the 713 next week (how I wish it were today!), thank GOD for that! Love your Old Navy duds.

I'm a flip flop lover and have several pairs but didn't actually show any of them in my post.

Flip flops rock 'cause they're the next best thing to naked feet!

You had FUN with this post, I can tell--I smiled all the way through :).

Yep, bargains are good, too. But I've never thrifted shoes before (but you've given me food for thought...).

Thanks for entertaining us with your foot post!

I guess you have an excuse to have so many shoes in a hotel room... since you're covering long term
......

Had you not mentioned 'thrift' I would have assumed you bought them from I magnim

If the gentleman caller visits you in your hotel room you technically don't have to walk far enough for those sexy black shoes to start hurting your feet, right?

I am totally with you on the Payless shoes. I recently walked out of a Payless with two pairs of shoes and I spent a total of $13.00. I get more compliments on those two pair of shoes than almost any others I've ever owned.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!!

Kaytabug: I very sensibly packed only 2 pairs of flip flops. I have....hmmm....maybe I won't say how many I have. But it is many. Alot. Way more than I should have. Damn you Old Navy!

Robinella: So true! I forgot to mention how those shoes are the 4th or 17th pair of identical black pumps I have purchased from Payless. These are looking a bit rough, but I don't think Payless sells them anymore. A heartbreaking situation!

Hootin' Anni: HAHAHA!!!! LMAO!!!

Karina: Thanks!!! You are welcome back anytime! I will keep the coffee hot.

Beckie: I will probably have more to say about the gentleman caller's visit from the barren desert later this week. Unfortunately, the shoes are on a jetplane....don't know when they'll be back again....

Anon (Mama): Those were the plumber's shoes. He had to take them off in order to repair the leak. Yea...that is my story. And I am sticking to it. Cuz mama's girl is innocent. Innocent, I swear it!

Pamela: It amazes me what you can find in the thrift stores. I have found ridiculously expensive clothing, purses and shoes in like new condition. Have sold many things on Ebay, and kept many for myself!

Sauntering Soul: I love me some Payless. After wandering around the Fun Monday blogosphere, my cheapness is sticking out, but Payless is mecca for the frugalite!

Thanks again to everyone for stopping by!!

You can't go wrong with flip flops from Old Navy. I buy them for my daughter every year and toss them away at the end of summer. Me, I can't wear flip flops.

Really wish I had caught this one, I have way too many pairs, I could have culled at the same time.

I totally rock the Payless Pumps, too! Well, on the once in a blue moon when I have a reason to put them on.

And that oh lordy don't tell my mama remark makes me think you've spent some time in the south!

I am reading along enjoying the shoes and then - GENTLEMAN CALLER - ooh la la. (hee hee)

I feel left out. No flip-flops.
